Sara has been recording and touring since 1989 on major and indie labels. Motherlode, her latest adult CD, was released in the summer of 2006. It is a two disc-set which offers the listener the opportunity to “choose their mood, choose their disc.” Its a collection of upbeat songs and songs of woe, all relating to Sara’s thoughts on music, motherhood, and the state of the world. Sara releases all her CDs on Sleeveless, her independent label. Raised in Houston, TX, Sara launched her professional career at age 14 at a Houston Oilers party with just her guitar and voice. She was soon singing at bank openings, psychiatric units and weddings. Her independently-released debut, Equally Scary People, was picked up in 1989 by Elektra. This was followed in 1990 by the album Shortstop, which yielded the #3 adult contemporary hit “I Couldn’t Help Myself.” Sara has twice been a guest of NBC’s Tonight Show , hosted her own VH-1 special, and produced an independent video, Joy, which won first place in the USA Film Festival. She has performed nationally, from festivals to Carnegie Hall to house concerts.
