Hank's Cadillac Sunday, May 18th
Board of Directors Elections at 6:30 pm
Concert at 7:30 pm
Commodore Barry Club - Carpenter & Emlen Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19119
"Hank's Cadillac plays all your roadhouse favorites and makes you want to hang out till closing time!"
So says David Dye, Host of World Cafe on WXPN. And this band's special combination of roots, rock, and retro-country will indeed keep you entertained well into the night.
Hank's Cadillac was originally formed by a group of musicians who are stalwart Hank Williams fans and has since grown to include in its repertoire songs by such artists as Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, John Fogarty, and many more. Fronted by former WXPN Program Director and DJ, and first-rate singer Kim Alexander, the band also includes two musicians from the rock band Mondo Topless-Scott Rodgers on bass and vocals, and Vince Friel on guitar-as well as Michael Salsburg on fiddle and Dave Conrad on drums. Their honky-tonk sound is just the thing for our Election Night.
At each meeting, along with the music, you'll have an opportunity to talk with members of the Board of Directors and others in Society leadership positions. Your thoughts and concerns about current programs and others you'd like to see are welcome here.
Coming up:
Our final meeting of the 2007-2008 season - June 8; Danny Bakan and a potluck
