The Philadelphia Folksong Society has a lot going on with monthly concerts, workshops, seasonal retreats, sings and house concerts in addition to the Philadelphia Folk Festival, its signature event. This upcoming season of monthly concerts from October to June is Water The Roots - nine months and nine different styles of music... with roots-based acts covering the Blues, Soul, Klezmer, Rockabilly, Cajun, and more! Here's a sneak preview:
- October 16th- Cabinet (bluegrass)
- November 13th- Alexis P. Suter (soul)
- December 11th- Voodudes (boogie woogie/zydeco)
- January 8th- Elaine Hoffman Watts and The Fabulous Shpielkes (Klezmer)
- February 12th- TBA
- April 15th- Ultra Kings (rockabilly)
- May 13th - Rafe Stefanini (fiddle tune/old time)
- June 10th- John Francis Band (Americana)
