The Philadelphia Folk Festival rules are designed to ensure the safety and security of everyone at the Festival and to see that everyone has a good time. Alcohol, illegal substances, or prohibited items may not be brought onto the Festival site at any time and are subject to confiscation. Persons possessing such items are subject to removal and prosecution. The Festival reserves the right to inspect vehicles, baggage, or persons coming into Festival property, the campground and the concert area.
Smoking Policy: The Festival appreciates your cooperation with the No Smoking Policy in the Concert and Workshop areas. So that all Festival patrons can enjoy the Main Stage concerts, there will be a smoking area inside the Concert Area during afternoon and evening Main Stage events only. The crafts people prefer that there be no smoking in the Crafts exhibit area-this is a safety issue. Smoking is permitted in the Campground and the Parking Areas. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Behavior: The Festival reserves the right to remove anyone for unacceptable behavior, as determined by Festival Management.
Public Safety Rules: No fireworks; no firearms, no pets or animals of any kind. No portable pressurized tanks, except propane containers up to a 20 lb. maximum. No bathing, shampooing, or washing dishes at water faucets. No trespassing on private property outside the Festival fences.
Camping: No camping in marked roads or parking lots. No tents in heavy camping. No vehicles in the light camping area. Vehicles not used for camping will be denied entrance to the campgrounds. Vehicles used for towing pop-ups and camping trailers will have 10 minutes to unload and must be removed from the campground. No reservations may be made for campground space. Space may not be marked off in camping for the arrival of other camping guests. If you wish to camp with a group, all members of the group must arrive together, or you must bring all the tents for the entire group and set them up at the same time.
Campers: This year please continue to cook your meals and toast your marshmallows on elevated charcoal or propane powered grills. Ground fires and wood fires are not permitted at individual campsites. Participate in or just enjoy the Festival's late night campfire sings!
Minors: Minors under age 16 may not camp without a responsible adult. For ticket buyers, the adult must be camped in the campground. For volunteers, the adult must be camped on the same site. Evictions will involve both the minor and the responsible adults or parents.
Wristlets: Wristlets must be worn on the wrist to gain campground access. If you do not show your wristlet on your wrist when requested, you will be ejected from the campground.
Noise Abatement Policy - We Prohibit the Following: All percussion instruments. Drumming on or defacing any Festival equipment, including but not limited to dumpsters, buildings, and toilets. Any excessive noise, especially between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., including but not limited to music or any electronically amplified sound from a radio, CD player, or tape recorder. Enforcement is triggered by a complaint.
On Site Sales: The selling or distribution of merchandise or literature of any kind on Festival grounds is permitted only by written authorization of the Festival Chairman. Unauthorized selling or distribution will result in eviction.
